Airport Flight Operations Departments
Airport departments concerned with flight operations are able to plan and control their work activities through access to a complete list of flights and accurate real-time arrival/departure information. Atom™ can obtain this information or use of Air Traffic Management data (aircraft at a distance) obtained from Air Traffic Control services or obtained independently. While many airlines have access to the SITA and ARINC networks, smaller airlines and General Aviation typically are not able to provide that information, but the Atom™ systems ensures their data is included since all flights to the airport are handled by air traffic control.
Operational Departments benefiting from this information include:
Gate/Stand Scheduling
-
Airport Management
-
Airport Duty Officer
-
Customs/Immigration
-
Security Office
-
Port Health
-
Agricultural Control
-
Fuel suppliers
-
Caterers
-
Baggage/Cargo Handling
-
Fixed -base Operators
Atom™ provides the following features to Airport Flight Operations personnel:
-
Allows users to see all flight movement with aircraft type and gate information, including passenger, cargo, general aviation and military.
-
Using complete real-time information from Air Traffic Control and/or Air Traffic Management facilities, Atom™ provides advance information on all traffic, not just flights of highly automated airline companies.
-
Allows departments to plan for and adapt dynamically to deviations from the schedule and other unexpected delays for any and all flights – no surprises.
-
Compatible with FAA/ETMS/Eurocontrol air traffic management advanced flow data for extended time frame planning.
Since all flights to the airport are handled by Air Traffic Control, the Atom™ CNS/ATM system that has data on all flights at the airport, can provide more compete airport flight information than that which comes only from the most highly automated passenger airlines. While airport departments need information on all flights, the passengers are principally concerned with only the passenger flights and Atom™’s flight data will even include small or marginal airlines that don’t have sophisticated message automation systems.

Interfaces to other systems:
For the airport flight operations departments, Atom™ interfaces can include Tower ATC, Area Control Center and Air Traffic Management.
The Atom™ advantage:
Atom™ brings complete real-time information about all the flights at the airport using the near-term Air Traffic Control information, and it can also provide the long-term Air Traffic Management position information. The information feed is not limited to large passenger airlines. This fully informs the airport departments as what flights are arriving and when, with enough lead time so the departments run effectively and efficiently – reacting to surprises is replaced by well-informed planning.
