Oceanic/Procedural Area Control Center

The Oceanic/Procedural ACC has specific requirement s that can be met by Atom™. By building on the Advanced Flight Data Management (FDM) functions supporting Air Traffic Control, Atom™ provides the following additional features to Oceanic/Procedural Center personnel.

  • Conflict prediction using oceanic and procedural separation standards and techniques.

  • AIDC/OLDI coordination with adjacent ACCs, Approach Controls, & Towers which takes into account the different coordination times and message sets used in letters of agreement with different facilities.

  • Automatic parsing and checking of received AFTN HF procedural position reports in multiple formats including North Atlantic and ARINC formats.

  • Automatic export of flight data for Airspace Revenue en route airport billing that can charge mileage flown through any procedural airspace at a different rate than other airspace.

  • Advance-time flow planning using received flight plan data used by Air Traffic Management (ATM) for sector loading and workload prediction.

  • On-the-fly dynamic sectorization to account for daily variations in traffic flow.

  • Support for the HF Radio Operator with check-while-entering of position reports Alerting to the controller and HF radio operator for overdue position reports.

  • Situation Display using available procedural position or surveillance data.

  • Oceanic/procedural fix-based strip printing with multiple strips per flight including colors determined by heading.

  • At controllers’ pre-shift airspace familiarization briefing, use NOTAM_Bene to review text and see visually on electronic map display all current and future NOTAMs affecting the controller’s airspace, including ad-hoc airspace reservations and volcanic ash warnings.

Interfaces to other systems:

The Oceanic/Procedural facility can interface to Approach Control, ACC and ATM. Interfaces to the Procedural Reporting/HF Radio Operator allow for exchange of clearances and position reports.

The optional AIDC/OLDI/SYSCO interfaces exchange coordination information with adjacent facilities.

Airspace Revenue captures flight information for revenue and statistics.

The Atom™ Advantage:

Atom™ is a full-featured oceanic system including optional oceanic conflict prediction and AlDC interfaces to adjacent systems and the ability to use the same air traffic information for strategic ATM and planning purposes.
