Air Traffic Management
The Atom™ system includes many Air Traffic Management (ATM) functions using its live Air Traffic Control (ATC) database that are usually only available on separate ATM-only systems.
-
It can correctly process and display flights worldwide using its earth-centered coordinate system so it broadens the time horizon for workload prediction and planning.
-
Its airspace definition database can be expanded well beyond the airport and national FIR boundaries for accurate and complete processing of all flights, even when outside the airspace.

Atom™ can receive feeds from wide-area ATM systems such as the US FAA ETMS and Eurocontrol to allow a long-term planning horizon for flights of interest long before they reach the local airspace or airport of interest.
Instead of relying only day- or week-old schedules, Atom™ supplements them by the effective processing of actual ATM flight and position information for flights that may be still thousands of miles from the FIR boundary, and allows the real-time data to be effectively used for:
-
ATC planning such as near and mid-term sector loading.
-
Airport planning for gate schedules and Customs/Immigration staff scheduling.
-
ATC/ATM Supervisory use of live system flight data to predict future sector loading in tabular displays and use same information in the situation display in fast-time mode to visualize future traffic patterns and relation to sector loading.
The Atom™ Advantage:
Atom™’s ability to draw information from multiple interfaces to use current position information from flights that are hours away from the local airspace or airport allows advance planning and visualization of future traffic loads and patterns.
