Airspace Revenue

By building on the powerful Atom™ Flight Data Management capabilities and using the same flight data that is maintained by Air Traffic Control (ATC) with surveillance and position updates from the Area Control Center and Oceanic/Procedural facilities, Atom™ exports flight data to produce airport and en route user-fee revenue and statistics information.

Atom™ provides aircraft data and 4D trajectories to:

  • Calculate distances flown though user-defined billing airspaces.

  • Allow one flight to have a distance charged at one rate to one airspace and another part of the same flight charged to another airspace at another rate.

  • Allow no-charge distances for portion of flights in TMAs outside ACC control.

  • Allow single charge for FIR entry.

  • Allow for other customer-defined billing algorithms including the use of aircraft type with user-configurable rates by aircraft weight category.

  • Automatically look up flight identification in flight plans in airline or registration database to find current account information and to identify non-account flights.

  • Send real-time CAA en route airspace charges to Cooperating arrival Airport for on-demand billing of inbound aircraft without CAA accounts (en route fees added to airport fees for demand billing before departure, revenue shared with airport).

Accurate and complete information provides for quality and timely billing which both reduces billing queries and provides rock-solid back-up information if questions arise

Interfaces to other systems:

Atom™ Airspace Revenue functions can produce billing information in standard or custom formats for export to IATA clearinghouse and other billing systems

The Atom™ Advantage:

By using the same information that is used by and kept up to date by Air Traffic Controllers, the Revenue Office is guaranteed accurate and complete information, and in real-time. Information is provided automatically without additional controller workload. Revenue and statistics information can be obtained without resorting to tedious manual processes and improvement from the capture of lost information can enhance revenue and avoid rate increases to users.
