Training Facilities

With its ATC operational, live-traffic background, Atom™ can be used as a full-featured ICAO-compliant stand-alone training system for:

By building on the Advanced FDM functions, Atom™ provides the following additional features to directly benefit the Training Facility.

ICAO message entry and logic checking.
Full route expansion with fix-time estimation and position entry.
Flight strip printing in any format and colors

Airspace structure database to teach fix, airway and other relationships.

ICAO airline codes automatically looked up in airline database to show sometimes-obscure radio call signs with flight information and on strips.

Situation display shows traffic and allows students to see effects of route, speed and level changes against map of airspace structures including fixes, airways navaids anywhere in the world.

Conflict prediction software shows effect of control actions.

The fast- and freeze- time mode of the situation display can be used as a teaching tool to easily visualize past, present and future outcomes.

NOTAM_Bene’s powerful visualization features allows the rapid understanding, searching and generation of NOTAMs and easily teaches the relationships among structures such as airways, fixes, navaids and airspaces such as FIR and airspace reservations. It also allows instructors to quickly visualize students' work for accuracy.

Uses:

Enter a flight plan on any workstation such as the AIS/FSS, and immediately visualize it on the situation display and see strips print on the Tower or ACC workstation. On any workstation, modify the flight data, update the departure or position information, or re-route the flight and see it reflected on the strips, the situation display and the other workstations. The instructor can use the situation display as a monitoring tool for the students’ inputs.

Since the system is PC-based, and familiar to many trainees, training time is reduced.

It is also easy to set up, operate and administer for the Training facility staff...

Interfaces to other systems:

The Atom™ training system can play back recorded training scenarios and it can also play back recorded live data. It can use live data directly in a read-only mode.
