NOTAM_Bene

NOTAM_Bene™ provides real productivity and safety improvements in the development, processing, and use of NOTAMs by dynamically linking together the NOTAM text with the underlying airspace structures described in the NOTAM and instantly displaying them on a map.

NOTAM_Bene™ is a full-function NOTAM system that features a highly advanced immediate mapping and visualization of the NOTAM text. It goes far beyond, the legacy NOTAM systems, which at best can read the fixed-format information contained in NOTAMs or provide "translations" having little additional meaning. Instead, NOTAM_Bene™ automatically reads the text and looks up the words in the NOTAM in the worldwide airspace databases and instantly draws them on the map, anywhere in the world. For complex NOTAMs this not only saves the time and effort in reading a NOTAM and plotting its (many) positions and structures on a map to check its relevance, but it also allows the knowledge to be saved and re-used by the next user without having to repeat the tedious re-analysis.

NOTAM_Bene™ can be used for all NOTAM producers and consumers can use it in the full NOTAM life cycle:

  • By the NOTAM originator, such as the space agency or military service to immediately visualize the NOTAM as it is being typed, especially its impact on nearby airspace structures.

  • By the NOTAM office, which can use NOTAM_Bene™ to visualize the NOTAM as it is created to avoid errors and re-work.

  • By dispatchers and pilots to find NOTAMs relevant to their flights.

  • By controllers to visualize NOTAMs, volcanic ash clouds and SIGMETs that affect their airspace. NOTAM_Bene™ is able to export data such as ad-hoc airspace reservations to the controller’s Conflict Prediction systems for use in probing for flights that might enter an airspace reservation.

  • By flight schools to use in training of controllers, pilots and dispatchers to visualize any airspace structure or route of flight.
