ATC Information

The Air Traffic Control (ATC) flight intent and movement information produced and managed by Atom™ is a very valuable resource that can be shared with other agencies involved in flight movements to whom real-time flight information is a key component of managing their operations. Historically, this information has been maintained separately by each organization, with very slow and inefficient update processes, such as paper or telephone information transfers. Sometimes extra workloads were placed directly on the ATC staff to manually produce the needed information. Atom™ allows real-time information sharing without additional controller workload.

Even if the Atom™ system is not used as the primary ATC system, it can be used instead as a gateway to interface to the existing ATC system, and using standard ICAO messages and airspace definitions, to produce in real time, the flight information needed for other users’ systems.
